Recognizing the impending health and wellness crisis facing our state, the Salazar Green at Salazar Elementary School provides a dynamic setting to instill positive habits of physical exercise and nutrition for students, their families, and the community at large. A new running track, soccer field, school garden, and multipurpose space employs sustainable landscape strategies including water collection/reuse, stormwater infiltration, biodiversity, and solar lights. Salazar Green serves as a model for future elementary school site improvements.
