AWARD OF EXCELLENCE WINNER from the 2011 Design Awards
Santa Fe Railyard: Santa Fe, NM
Completion: 2009
Landscape Architect: Ken Smith Landscape Architect
The Santa Fe Railyard Park and Plaza activates the last remaining large-scale parcel of public land in downtown Santa Fe. This neighborhood revitalization was the result of active community involvement and commitment to the realization of a great civic space.
The park design, informed by the history of the place, creates a new public precinct connecting diverse neighborhoods previously separated by this industrial site.
The Project Team included architect Frederic Schwartz, URS Corporation, Mary Miss, Harris Consultants, Regenesis, Watershed West, Bridgers and Paxton, EarthwrightDesigns, Edith Katz of LOLA, Molly Mehaffy Design with Nature, Jim Conti Lighting Design, Gayla Bechtol Architects, Balis and Company, Ann Nelson, Butch DeFillippo, and Exerplay, Inc.
The Contractors were Star Construction and Heads Up Landscape Contractors.
Please email Sara Zahm if you have a project that you would like to post on this page. Please include a brief description of the project following the format above and a couple images.
